About Web Lab Niagara
A web design and development business in the Niagara Region, Ontario.
What this is
Web Lab Niagara builds websites for businesses across the Niagara Region — the ones people find on a phone, judge in about two seconds, and either call or don't.
It is a local business rather than a marketplace listing or a reseller with a call centre somewhere else. The phone number in the footer reaches a person in the same time zone, and the enquiry form goes to an inbox someone actually reads.
Who you'll be dealing with
Web Lab Niagara is run by Greg Wise, working from the Niagara Region — about ten minutes from DeCew Falls.
Which means the person who answers your first email is the person you keep dealing with. There is no account manager in between, and no handover to a team you never meet once the contract is signed.
How the work is done
Sites are built by hand rather than assembled from a theme and a stack of plugins. That is not craft for its own sake — it is why a page loads in about a second on ordinary mobile data instead of four, and most people who leave a slow site leave before they have read a word of it.
Everything is built to be used by everyone, measured against WCAG 2.2 AA rather than assumed to pass. Someone who cannot use your site does not file a complaint — they go elsewhere, and you never find out it happened.
What you own at the end
The site, the code, the domain and the accounts — outright, in your name. No monthly fee to keep your own website online, and no platform that holds it hostage if you decide to work with someone else.
That includes being able to leave. Handing the whole thing to another developer should be a boring afternoon, not a negotiation.
What's not promised
No guaranteed rankings. Anyone offering you the top Google result for a competitive phrase is selling something they do not control. What is controllable is being genuinely the best answer to the question, and being fast and legible enough that nothing gets in the way of it.
And not every project needs a hand-built site. Where something simpler or an existing platform is the right answer for the budget, that is the recommendation you will get.
